Jamshedpur-based Tata Football Academy (TFA) emerged champions in the 17th Tata-Utkalika Cup Invitation Football Tournament, defeating local favourites Yazdani Club-73 by 5-4 goals in the final, via tie-breaker here at Unit-VI High School ground today. Tie-break rule was applied after play in the regulation time ended in 1-1 draw.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and the runners-up took home Rs 15,000. Visal Das, Seiminlun Kipgon, Agia Pal Singh and Dillip Kindo of the champion team received individual prizes as man of the final, man of the tournament, best goalkeeper and best defender in the order. Santosh Tudu of Club-73 pocketed the award as best mid-fielder.
Tata Steel Chief Resident Executive Manikanta Nayak, Odisha Football Association vice-president Bhakta Ballav Das and Angul-Sukinda Railway Line Project Managing Director D K Samantray gave away the prizes in the closing function. Hose Unit-VI Athletic Association president Tapan Mohanty and secretary Dillip Das were present on the occasion.

February 6 (1st PQF): Mangala Club, Cuttack (Bijay Das 46th, Anil Samal 63rd) beat Odisha Homeguard, Cuttack 2-0. Man of the match: Bijay Das.
February 7 (1st QF): Yazdani Club-73 (Santosh Naik 20th, 72nd; Antu Murmu 46th) East Coast Railway, Khurda Road 3-0. MoM: Santosh Naik.
February 8 (2nd QF): Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Bikash Padhiari 2nd, Sunil Sardar 76th) beat Mangala Club (Sashikant Rout 15th) 2-1. MoM: Sunil Sardar.
February 9 (2nd PQF): Unit-VI Athletic Association (Rajat Nag 9th, 13th; Antaryami Nayak 22nd, 77) beat AG Odisha (Chetan Nayak 80th) 4-1. MoM: Antaryami Nayak.
February 10 (1st SF): Yazdani Club-73 (Sunil Marandi, Seikh Zaheed, Santosh Tudu, Kedar Singh) beat Cuttack Sports Hostel (Niranjan Sardar) 4-1 in tie-breaker. FT 0-0. MoM: Dilip Kindo.
February 11 (3rd QF):Tata Football Academy, Jamshedpur (R Siakhom, Bishal Das, K Ching and I Domling) beat Unit-VI Athletic Association (Jayaram Munda, Rameswar Parhi) 4-2 in penalty shoot out.
February 12 (4th QF): SAI Hostel, Cuttack (A Kanhei 18th, Kuanr Marandi 40th, S Murmu 50th) beat Odisha Police 3-0.
February 13 (2nd SF): Tata Football Academy (Semen Miragn 29th) beat SAI Hostel 1-0. MoM: Semen Miragn.
February 15 (Final): Tata Football Academy (Visal Das 30th, Konsham Sana, Ronald, Visal Das, Shrivas Singh) beat Yazdani Club-73 (Susant Nayak 18th, Sunil Marandi, Sk Jahid and Prem Kisan) 5-4 in tie-breaker. MoM: Visal Das.
